Dear Captains,
As we get closer and closer to the release date, we would like to share some more information and previews with you of Frankfurt Intl. Airport for MSFS2020.
First thing first: thank you for your patience. We decided mid course to add new features, fix some bugs and remake from scratch many new objects and buildings, to make the experience even more realistic.
This took us more time than expected. For reference, at the moment the team is focusing on other projects and external collaborations, so now it’s just me carrying out this final part of the conversion.
Considering my main job as an airline pilot, employed in Europe flying 737s, I had to dedicate slightly less time to the scenery, but working during my off days and thanks to the amazing beta testers community, I think we managed quite well up to this point.
A few notes and information on what will be present in the scenery at the time of the release:
Full rendition of T1 and T2, including all concourses, remote stands, cargo areas etc.
Fully custom animated jetways and GSX profile
Extremely detailed aprons with custom vehicles and GSE, to be even more immersive!
Terminal interiors (option to disable them for better performance)
Custom ground profile, including taxiway overpasses and highway tunnels
Custom POIs around the airport area
Taxiway layout up to date, including new GA apron on the south
Custom HDR lighting
Much, much more, ready to be discovered by you!
Being this a sort of parallel project for us, we will continue to update the scenery on a constant basis, covering those areas that for the moment didn’t received all of the required love from our dev team. This includes the new yet-to-be-finished T3 on the southern part of the airport. Some other areas will receive a glow up as well, making sure that they match the real environment as closely and accurately as possible.
With the release of the airport we will also open our Discord channel to the whole community (at the moment it’s just reserved for the beta team), where you will find not only a great community for both flight simulators, but also a space where I will share personal flight experiences, tips and facts about the 737 and aviation in general. It will be a space for everyone to enjoy mature and professional real-world aviation environment.
That’s it for now Captains, I hope you enjoy the screenshots as much as we do here at Aviotek Software.
Wish you all a nice flying weekend!
Blue always up,
Vittorio
P.S. : bonus point for the first that can "visually guide" us to the release date 😏
